Arguably one of the most under-utilized components of NFT’s are the licensing of commercial rights for owners. Even owners of the renowned CryptoPunk NFTs are limited to noncommercial use of their artwork by Larva Labs. However, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is one collection that allows owners to monetize their tokens uniquely by commercial licensing. This means owners can creatively monetize the artwork they own however they may choose. One group that is beginning to do this is Non-Fungible Films, a production and entertainment company bridging Web 3.0 collections and mainstream media.
Non-Fungible Films founder, Cameron Moulene, officially announced an “Ape casting call” for an upcoming animated series coming 2022. Ape owners (Bored Ape and Mutant Apes alike) will be able to submit their apes to be cast in this series, and monetize in a unique way through the animated film! According to Moulene, the response has been overwhelming. I mean, think about it! Have you ever wondered what kind of personality or voice your ape would have? This would be the opportunity to find out.
